Vic De Jesus

Vic “Dancin’ Hands” De Jesus is a professional Latin percussionist, who is well-versed in many musical genres. Born in Puerto Rico, but raised in NYC, he first discovered his now life-long passion for percussion at an early age in the conga sounds filling the Spanish Harlem summer nights.  His musical taste buds grew as eclectic as the Big Apple itself with performances ranging from Avant Garde Jazz with the Cecil Taylor Ensemble; to Salsa and Latin jazz with former Joe Cuba Sextet vibraphonist, Tommy Berrios; to new wave rock with Coney Island Whitefish at CBGB’s; and to pop standards with a top Brooklyn club date band.

Over the past ten years in South Florida he’s covered the wide Latin music genre as a member of the Son Calidad Band and Musix Groove and as a freelance guest artist with Grupo Contreras.  Vic could also be found adding flavor to jazz, Swing and Blues standards with Ken Burkhardt.  He now enjoys performing with DJ “Live” a fusion concept performing any style of music with a DJ and other musicians.

Vic’s true enjoyment is being a part of a moment when an entire crowd vibrates in tune with a memorable musical experience.  So, when your event calls for dependable, flavorful and dynamic Latin percussion grooves…it’s “Dancin’ Hands”
