Can-Can; originated in the working class ballrooms of Paris; a dance for couples who indulged in high kicks; it was later performed by a chorus line of female dancers. It is a very physically demanding dance and very enjoyable to watch.

It’s a six-day party where crowds follow the trio’s electricos through the city streets, dancing and singing. The typical genres of Brazilian Carnival music are in Rio de Janeiro and include the samba-enredo, the samba de bloco, the samba de embalo and the marchinha, in Pernambuco and Bahia the main genres are the frevo, the maracatu, the samba-reggae and Axe music to today’s latest.
